Gift Ideas for Your Preschooler

I like to choose toys for preschoolers that develop symbolic and pretend play skills. This is the point at which to begin moving away from cause and effect toys and toys that make a lot of noise and begin to seek out those that stimulate the imagination. Action figures, play kitchens, tool kits and vet or doctor sets, toys for building (lincoln logs, tinker toys, duplos,), ice cream and bakery sets. You get the idea. Growing play skills are some of the biggest boosts to childhood vocabulary growth, grammatical structure, lengthened phrases and increased complexity of language.

Another gift thought is from a friend who’s goal is to help little ones be creative but also understand what their days and weeks entail with a kid calendar. Below is a link for a kids art calendar for 2024
